The Symbolic Meaning of the Toad: A Study from Cross-Cultural and Psychological Perspectives
Abstract
Based on Jungian psychology, this paper explores the symbolic meaning of the toad. Starting from the dream imagery of the author, it examines the diverse and complex factors that form the symbolism of the toad in the human psyche. The dimensions for understanding symbolism include biological, cultural, and psychological attributes. The study finds that understanding symbolism enables a deeper insight into the unconscious contents expressed by the human psyche through symbols, thus allowing for wider application in clinical counseling cases.
