The health professional and their responsibilities
Abstract
Medical residency, particularly in medium-sized private hospitals, faces challenges related to high care-related pressure, limited academic tradition, and fragile systematized pedagogical structures, which compromise the comprehensive development of medical residents and the sustainability of the learning environment. This study aims to describe and analyze the Conexão Clínica Project as a structured educational intervention oriented toward the integrated development of hard skills, soft skills, and hybrid skills among medical residents in a medium-sized private hospital. To this end, a descriptive qualitative case study was conducted, based on documentary analysis, participant observation, questionnaires, and semi-structured interviews with medical residents, preceptors, and institutional managers. The intervention combined technical and behavioral educational strategies, including clinical-pedagogical meetings, progress testing, structured feedback, individual development plans, and the andragogical use of the DISC tool for behavioral profile analysis.Accordingly, the findings indicate strengthening of clinical reasoning and decision-making, improvement of communication, teamwork, and emotional selfregulation competencies, as well as the development of hybrid skills characterized by the integration of clinical judgment, use of care-related data, clinical communication, and ethical responsibility.Additionally, positive changes were observed in institutional indicators related to patient experience, particularly the Net Promoter Score in the Emergency Service. This allows the conclusion that the Conexão Clínica Project contributed to systematizing andragogical practices, strengthening the teaching culture, integrating multiprofessional teams, and promoting a more balanced and mature training process, demonstrating the feasibility and relevance of structured educational interventions in non-university private hospitals.
