Abstract

Abstract We investigate the bias-voltage ( V ) dependence of pyroelectricity in LiTaO 3 single crystals. The pyroelectric coefficient shows a pronounced V -dependence even when the polarization ( P ) is nearly saturated in the P – V hysteresis. Comparison with the dielectric permittivity demonstrates that the bias dependence is dominated by the dielectric contribution, where the internal bias shifts the apparent response even at zero external bias. We also develop an independent quantification of the dielectric contribution by modulating temperature and bias at different frequencies and detecting the combined-frequency component, enabling evaluation without changing the sample state and/or measurement conditions during the pyroelectric measurements.
