Intervención familiar positiva en Galicia: Programa Famiescolas
Abstract
The study shows that educational centres in Galicia are struggling to adapt their parental training programmes in line with the principles of positive parenting. They offer infrequent sessions with relevant but insufficient content, often excluding key topics such as child development and the active role of fathers. These programmes rely on lecture-based approaches that limit family participation and prioritise school-related content.Rural schools identify more needs, while urban centres involve parents more in choosing the topics.Family participation remains low, particularly in vulnerable contexts, due to a lack of awareness, time constraints and the perception that parenting is a private matter. The Famillescolas programme generates high levels of satisfaction, raises parental awareness and encourages families to participate again. The study emphasises the urgent need to implement more dynamic methodologies, provide proper staff training, and promote the active and inclusive participation of all families.
