Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly integrated into cybersecurity systems to enhance threat detection, incident response, and overall security posture. However, the deployment of AI technologies introduces significant ethical considerations that require rigorous assessment. This paper examines the ethical implications of implementing AI ethics frameworks within the cybersecurity domain, highlighting the necessity for responsible AI practices. Key ethical principles, including transparency, accountability, fairness, and privacy, are analysed to determine their relevance in safeguarding human rights while leveraging advanced technologies. Existing frameworks from organisations such as the European Union and the IEEE are evaluated for their effectiveness in promoting ethical AI usage. Real-world case studies illustrate both the successes and challenges organisations face in adhering to ethical standards. Through a comprehensive literature review, the study emphasises the importance of establishing effective governance strategies and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to ensure ethical and responsible use of AI in cybersecurity. The paper aims to advance the discourse on AI ethics and offer practical guidelines for implementation in cybersecurity practices.
