High-quality professional development in educational technology for effective classroom implementation
Abstract
As technology becomes increasingly embedded in educational environments, the demand for structured guidance and sustained support for educators continues to grow. Although multiple frameworks for educational technology (EdTech) integration exist, a persistent gap remains between theoretical models and classroom practice. Providing educators with access to well-designed, highquality, and teacher-centered professional development (PD) is essential to fostering meaningful mindset shifts and effective EdTech implementation. The findings of this study reveal three central themes: (a) the quality of teachers’ EdTech application in the classroom significantly influences instructional effectiveness, (b) the quality of students’ engagement with EdTech plays a critical role in learning outcomes, and (c) the quality of professional development is a determining factor in successful technology integration. Moreover, effective PD must intentionally emphasize purposeful student use of EdTech to promote deeper engagement and improved learning outcomes.
