Gestão da Informação no Ensino de Biblioteconomia
Abstract
Information management is a contemporary possibility for improving information processes and flows in different environments. It is a practice that brings together professionals from a wide range of fields, including librarians. Considering this, this study aims to analyze how Information Management practices, models, and tools are systematized in the Pedagogical Project of the Library Science Program at the Federal University of Ceará, as well as their implications for the development of librarian skills and abilities in the emerging context. It is based on the methodological assumptions of applied, descriptive research with a qualitative approach operationalized through documentary research. The results highlight the presence of information management in the five mandatory curricular components of the management course. Although the term is not explicitly mentioned, models and tools of information management are used, strengthening the librarian’s role in this area. It concludes that information management remains a contemporary practice in organizations, combined with new technologies such as artificial intelligence. Thus, understanding the foundational aspects of this field is essential for librarianship, with a focus on the strategic use of information.
