É BOLA DE GUDE, CONTAÇÃO DE HISTÓRIA E XADREZ: O JOGO E A TEORIA PIAGETIANA NAS PESQUISAS BRASILEIRAS (1991 A 2024)

In this research, we constructed a mapping of Brazilian scientific production on the relationship between play and Jean Piaget's theory from 1991 to 2024, using the State of Knowledge as the methodological approach. We analyzed 60 peer-reviewed scientific articles indexed in the Portal de Periódicos of the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES), using the descriptors "Piaget," "jogo" (play/game), and "lúdico" (playful) and their possible variations. The results indicate that the most frequent words in titles and keywords were "jogo" (play/game), "Piaget," "lúdico" (playful), "aprendizagem" (learning), and "educação" (education), reflecting the focus of these studies on teaching and learning processes. Most publications were concentrated between 2010 and 2021, with the electronic journal Schème (Genetic Psychology and Epistemology) from UNESP standing out, accounting for 32% of the analyzed articles. Piaget's most cited works were Play, Dreams and Imitation in Childhood, Six Psychological Studies, and The Moral Judgment of the Child. Regarding the types of games from a Piagetian perspective, 25% of the articles addressed games with rules, 15% discussed the three types simultaneously (exercise, symbolic, and rules), while 60% did not specify. Additionally, 37% of the studies were related to Science and Mathematics Education, with an emphasis on Mathematics. We conclude that Brazilian research on play and Piagetian Theory has a strong educational bias, with future potential for advancing this relationship with other aspects of Piagetian Theory and Science and Mathematics Education, as well as with other fields of knowledge.
