A Política Externa como reflexo das dinâmicas internas
Abstract
This article aims to analyze the relationship between domestic public policies and the international insertion of Brazilian agribusiness, investigating how internal dynamics shape the country’s foreign policy in the agricultural sector. To this end, a qualitative approach is adopted, based on a literature review of academic works, official documents, and sectoral studies. Drawing on the theoretical framework of Foreign Policy Analysis (FPA), particularly the works of Hermann, Hermann, and Hagan (1987), Moravcsik (1997), and Milner (1997), the article seeks to understand the connections between domestic structures, internal actors’ preferences, and the international strategies of the Brazilian state, with agribusiness as a central axis. The article’s main contribution lies in demonstrating the central role agribusiness plays in shaping Brazil’s foreign policy preferences and its practical implications, amid growing tensions around environmental and sustainability issues.
