Sul Global E O Futuro Da Internet
Abstract
The article analyzes Western internet governance under Critical Theory of International Relations, focusing on the perspective of the Global South. The central issue is whether neoliberal dynamics have captured the initial community nature of the internet and whether the current model meets the demands of countries in the Global South. To this end, the influence of the state and private sector on the structure of IG is investigated, considering factors such as private expertise, company location, and technical infrastructure. A literature review and Robert Cox's historical structures method are used to propose a counter-hegemonic alternative. The conclusion is that the current model needs to be reformed.
