Abstract

Occupational health and safety (OHS) is a fundamental aspect in the construction sector to minimize workplace accidents. Safety risk perception plays an important role in shaping worker safety behavior. This study aims to analyze the influence of individual factors (age, education, work experience, and work section) and organizational factors (safety climate, workload, and accident experience) on the safety risk perception of precast unit workers. The research method used a cross-sectional approach with questionnaires to 281 workers in five precast plants of PT X. Data analysis used chi-square test and logistic regression. The results showed that work section (p=0.000; OR=0.012), final education (p=0.045; OR=1.458), workload (p=0.000; OR=5.118), and safety climate (p=0.000; OR=3.211) significantly influenced risk perception. Middle management workers have 83 times better risk perception than frontliners. A good safety climate increases risk perception 3.2 times better. This study recommends strengthening OHS training programs, improving safety climate through transformative leadership, optimal workload management, and developing transparent accident reporting systems to enhance risk perception and occupational safety culture in the precast industry.
