A prevenção aos riscos ambientais utilizando o Google Earth em classes de Geografia e Ciências do Ensino Fundamental 2:
Abstract
The present study aimed to address the importance of applying technological resources in the teaching of Geography and Science, with the purpose of preventing deaths caused by landslides. To this end, the software Google Earth was used for a case study conducted in Morro do Bumba, where a major landslide occurred in 2010, resulting in loss of life. The objective of this study is to train teachers working in educational institutions in the state of Rio de Janeiro on the effectiveness of using these resources in the classroom. The research methodology is of a basic nature, with exploratory and explanatory objectives, a quali-quantitative approach, a hypothetical-deductive method, and bibliographic and case study procedures. The results obtained in this study confirmed the problem situation through a questionnaire and discussed the use of Google Earth Pro in classroom environments. This concept was presented to the teachers who participated in the research, and they approved this new method as an effective approach for analyzing slope risk areas.
