Abstract

The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the digital transformation of analytic-synthetic information processing and its impact on the professional training of specialists in library, information, and archival studies. The study emphasizes that digitalization, which increasingly penetrates all spheres of social activity, is shaping a new paradigm of information management and requires a fundamental modernization of educational programs. Traditional processes of selecting, analyzing, systematizing, and synthesizing information are undergoing significant changes due to the introduction of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, automated information systems, and big data analytics. These technologies enable the automation of routine tasks, enhance accuracy, and expand opportunities for working with large and diverse information resources. The article highlights the emergence of new competency requirements for future professionals. Essential skills now include digital literacy, proficiency in working with metadata standards, basic programming, operating AI-based tools, and understanding legal and ethical principles of digital information governance. The author argues for the necessity of supplementing traditional academic disciplines with courses in modern information technologies, cybersecurity, digital platforms, cloud services, and data analysis. Equally important is the development of soft skills – critical thinking, communication, creativity, and lifelong learning – which enable specialists to adapt to the dynamic nature of the digital environment. The study also underscores the importance of international cooperation in enhancing professional training quality, particularly through participation in digitalization projects and global educational initiatives. The author concludes that effective preparation of library, information, and archival professionals is possible only through an interdisciplinary approach, integration of advanced digital technologies, and strengthening of practice-oriented training. Digital transformation not only expands the professional capabilities of specialists but also requires new ways of thinking, readiness for continuous learning, and the ability to respond to the challenges of the modern information society.
