Abstract

An alternative technology for producing of graphite-copper composite materials without the use high temperatures and pressure is proposed, the principle of which is based on preliminary open impregnation of a graphite base with a copper plating electrolyte solution followed by electrochemical copper plating. It is experimentally shown that the effect of ultrasound on the copper plating electrolyte solution in which EG-14 material blanks are placed leads to maximum filling of open pores with electrolyte within the first 60…80 mins, and subsequent electrochemical treatment ensures the reduction of copper in the filled pores of EG-14 graphite to a depth of up to 2 mm when using sulfuric acid copper plating electrolyte, and 3 mm when using pyrophosphate copper plating electrolyte.
