Wear resistance and adhesive strength of thin magnetron coatings of Cu—Mo system applied to titanium VT6 alloy
Abstract
The effect of a thin-layer antifriction coating based on immiscible components Cu—Mo applied by magnetron sputtering on a sample of titanium alloy VT6 on wear resistance during running-in in the friction pair "titanium alloy VT6 — steel SHX15" is investigated. A comparison with a sample made of VT6 alloy without an applied antifriction coating is carried out. Coatings when sprayed in an argon and argon atmosphere with the addition of nitrogen. The adhesive strength of the coating was determined by scribing. Dependences of elemental composition, microhardness, coefficient of friction and volumetric wear on the concentration of nitrogen in a mixture with argon during the application process were obtained. Analysis of the results obtained showed that coatings with a lack of nitrogen in the films have the highest hardness and wear resistance.
