Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly altered human behavior, health systems, and socio-economic dynamics worldwide. While physical health implications were immediate, the pandemic also precipitated a silent mental health crisis. This paper explores the psychological consequences of COVID-19 across various populations, including healthcare workers, students, the elderly, and individuals with pre-existing mental health conditions. Drawing upon empirical studies, surveys, and psychological models, the research highlights the pandemic’s long-term impact on anxiety, depression, PTSD, and emotional well-being. Policy gaps, resilience factors, and global disparities are also discussed, with recommendations for building sustainable mental health infrastructure.
