Abstract

Rapid industrial and urban expansion in Odisha has led to an increase in the heat stress, air pollution, and occupational health issues of the vulnerable workers. This paper examines how the green infrastructure (GI) could enhance the well-being of workers and inclusive green development in industrial cities. This study aims to propose a quantitative method for the study which integrates worker‑health survey data, variables constructed from the 2011 Population Census, 2015–2024 meteorological records, labor‑productivity statistics, and satellite‑derived estimates of urban green cover. Comparative analysis shows GI therapies reduce temperatures by 4, productivity by 711, and respiratory health by 1020.The information suggests that green infrastructure (GI) reduces urban heat and economic losses through absenteeism and low productivity of employees and improves respiratory health. The study indicates that GI is a commercially feasible, people-centered modus operandi approach that links environmental healthiness to economic performance. It is also experimental to promote industrial designs of adapting to climate and the focus of green infrastructure in urban and industrial policy in supportive and sustainable development.
