THE IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON THE RUSSIAN HEALTHCARE LABOR MARKET: QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE ASPECTS
Abstract
The article analyzes the transformation of the labor market in the Russian healthcare sector under the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Based on a systematic review of domestic and foreign research from 2017 to 2025, key quantitative and qualitative effects are identified. It is shown that AI has a dual impact: on the one hand, it automates up to 30–40% of routine administrative and clinical tasks, creating risks for low-skilled roles; on the other hand, it creates demand for new hybrid competencies and professions at the intersection of medicine and data analysis. Empirical data indicate an increase in labor productivity by 10–20% and a growing share of IT specialists in medical organizations. The effects are distributed unevenly: in large centers, AI serves as a tool for increasing efficiency, while in rural areas its implementation is hampered by resource and personnel barriers. The paper systematizes changes in the nature of work for key categories of medical personnel and offers practical recommendations for government bodies, healthcare managers, and the scientific community aimed at mitigating risks and leveraging AI opportunities for human capital development in healthcare.
