Abstract

Project-oriented companies face an urgent need to transform traditional functional and design management models into process-oriented systems. The existing universal typologies of business processes do not reflect the specifics of project portfolio management, the multi-stage life cycle of projects, the variety of stakeholder requirements and the need for integration with corporate strategy. The research is aimed at developing a specialized typology and classification of business processes adapted to the specifics of project- oriented organizations, and creating methodological tools for their transformation. The research methodology is based on a systematic, comparative analysis of existing classifications and the operationalization of project management processes. Based on the analysis of project-oriented companies in various industries, a three-level typology of business processes has been developed, including an operational description of 15 main and 12 supporting processes. A system of 32 process efficiency indicators has been proposed, taking into account the balance between standardization and flexibility. A system of 32 process efficiency indicators has been proposed, taking into account the balance between standardization and flexibility. The proposed typology provides a methodological and instrumental basis for the process-oriented transformation of project- oriented companies in the context of digitalization.
