ASSESSING THE MATURITY OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN POWER ENGINEERING COMPANIES BASED ON PUBLIC REPORTING DATA
Abstract
The article presents the results of a study aimed at bridging the methodological gap in assessing the maturity of project management systems (PMS). The authors have developed and tested an original analytical matrix that allows to conduct a comparative analysis of the maturity of PMS based on publicly available data of annual reports of companies. The methodology is applied in the context of energy engineering – an industry with complex, capital-intensive and long-term projects. As objects of comparative case analysis, two system-forming players were selected: JSC “Power Machines” and the Machine-Building Division of the State Corporation “Rosatom” (JSC “Atomenergomash”). As a result, two stable management configurations were identified and described in detail: “adaptive-oriented” and “system-deterministic”. On the basis of the analysis, management values are formulated that set the vectors for the development of PMS in the direction of synthetic maturity, combining operational flexibility with system reliability. The work has practical value, providing a tool for external benchmarking and strategic self-assessment of industry companies.
