Abstract

The paper examines the problem of the shadow sector growth and the criminalization of economic relations as one of the key threats to the state’s financial stability. The main schemes of tax evasion and illegal capital withdrawal that have become popular in recent years are analyzed, and the impact of digitalization and cryptocurrencies on the opacity of financial flows is assessed. Statistics reflecting the dynamics of economic crimes are presented. Consequently, measures to improve financial control mechanisms are proposed, which will help reduce risks to national security and make the market more transparent.
