Abstract

The relevance of progressive taxation in today’s economic reality is determined by a range of socioeconomic challenges. Growing wealth and income inequality, the need to increase budget revenues to finance social obligations and infrastructure projects, and public demand for greater fairness in the tax system are all forcing states to reconsider their fiscal approaches. The objective of this research paper is to assess the feasibility and prospects for further development of a progressive tax model in the Russian Federation to generate financial revenues for budgets at various levels. The objective of this research is to examine the practical application of progressive income taxation in Russia and abroad. The novelty of this research paper lies in the potential for adapting successful international practices to the Russian tax system.
