Abstract

This article assesses the prospects for growth in the economic potential of the education system through the implementation of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in 2024–2025. The research focuses on national and institutional education systems (teaching, assessment, management, and support for educational trajectories). It examines the economic mechanisms through which AI can change the productivity and effectiveness of educational processes (redistribution of teacher time, reduction in the unit costs of content development, increased diagnostic and personalization accuracy, and improved management decisions), as well as the risks that reduce the expected returns (quality of learning outcomes, academic integrity, digital divide, and data and infrastructure limitations). The goal of the study is to develop a verifiable framework for assessing the economic impact of AI in education and propose implementation benchmarks based on comparable international approaches to “readiness” and competencies. The methodology includes a comparative analysis of international framework documents for 2024–2025, structuring the findings of peerreviewed studies, and constructing the author’s matrix “effect channel → indicator → feasibility condition → risk and control.” It is shown that short-term effects are most likely in the productivity and content cycle channels, while long-term returns depend on maintaining assessment validity, integrity management, teacher competencies, and data management frameworks.
