INTEGRATION OF INTELLIGENT MECHATRONIC DRIVES INTO INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION: ANALYSIS OF ENERGY SAVINGS AND ECONOMIC EFFECT
Abstract
This article provides a systems analysis of the impact of intelligent mechatronic drives on the energy efficiency and economic performance of industrial enterprises. Modern technologies of variable frequency drives (VFDs), servomotors with digital control systems, and drives with integrated diagnostics are considered. Based on data from the International Energy Agency (IEA), IEC 60034–30 standards, and research in industrial automation, a quantitative assessment of the energy savings potential and economic effectiveness of implementation is provided. Calculation models for estimating the payback period (ROI), NPV, and TCO are presented. It has been shown that the integration of intelligent drives can reduce energy consumption by 20–60% in variable-load systems, with project payback periods ranging from 1 to 3 years under typical operating conditions.
