METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES TO TERMINOLOGY ADAPTATION IN RESEARCH OF COMPLEX ECONOMIC SYSTEMS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE ECOSYSTEM APPROACH)
Abstract
The purpose of the research is to find methodological solutions to the problem of terminological ambiguity in describing complex economic systems. The paper considers the fundamental problem of “incommensurability of paradigms” and semantic adaptation of interdisciplinary concepts in economic discourse. Based on the semantic analysis of modern literature and the method of comparative research of paradigms, the authors analyze the limitations of using classical terminology to describe dynamic network structures. The concept of “cenosis” (ecosystem), which causes the greatest methodological disputes due to the risk of biological reductionism, was chosen as a case study. Results. A matrix of semantic adaptation is proposed, including four vectors: system-cybernetic, network (topological), “soft-ecological” and institutional. For each vector, specific nominations (“complex adaptive system”, “value constellation”, “organizational field”, etc.) have been identified, allowing the ontological core of the concept to be preserved without loss of scientific rigor. Conclusion. The authors conclude that the solution to the problem of terminological unification lies not in the creation of a single metalanguage, but in the use of vector navigation — a conscious choice of metaphor for a specific research task.
