ANALYSIS OF CHINA’S SOCIO-ECONOMIC SITUATION DURING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE 12TH AND 13TH FIVE-YEAR PLANS
Abstract
This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the socioeconomic situation in the People’s Republic of China during the implementation of the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011–2015) and the transition to the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016–2020). The central thesis of the work is the transformation of the Chinese economy from an extensive model based on cheap labor to an innovative model of intensive growth under the strategic leadership of the Communist Party of China. Based on a systematization of official data (GDP, economic structure, foreign trade, production indicators), the author demonstrates steady, albeit slowing, economic growth against a backdrop of significant structural shifts: the accelerated development of the service sector and a declining share of the industrial sector. The article examines in detail demographic trends (population control, population aging, urbanization), the state of agriculture as a basic sector, and the dynamic development of the electric power industry, with an emphasis on the diversification of energy sources and the growth of renewable resources. The financial sector is characterized as stable, with the growing role of the yuan in international settlements and the expansion of Chinese direct investment abroad noted.
