THE DIGITAL RUBLE AS A TOOL FOR INCREASING TRANSPARENCY IN ECONOMIC RELATIONS
Abstract
This study examines the theoretical and practical aspects of using the digital ruble as a tool for increasing the transparency of economic relations. The scale and structure of the shadow economy are analyzed, and key factors shaping the space for shadow financial transactions are identified. Conceptual approaches to using the digital ruble for transaction monitoring, automated control, and improving the reliability of financial data are proposed. The key institutional, economic, socio-behavioral, and technological prerequisites that shape the conditions for the emergence and spread of shadow financial and economic processes are examined. The limitations of this ambitious project and the conditions for its successful scaling within the national infrastructure are identified. Calculations of the potential economic benefits are presented, demonstrating a significant increase in budget revenues with the widespread implementation of the digital ruble.
