Cybersecurity and Trust in AI-Enabled E-commerce
Abstract
The rapid expansion of e-commerce platforms and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) have transformed the way businesses operate and interact with consumers. AI-enabled e-commerce systems leverage technologies such as machine learning, data analytics, and automation to enhance customer experience, personalize services, and optimize business operations. However, the increasing reliance on digital platforms has also raised serious concerns related to cybersecurity and consumer trust. Cyber threats such as data breaches, identity theft, fraud, and unauthorized access pose significant risks to both businesses and customers. This paper examines the role of cybersecurity in building and sustaining trust in AI-enabled e-commerce platforms. It analyzes key cybersecurity challenges, trust-related issues, global practices, and future prospects. The study highlights the importance of robust security mechanisms, ethical AI practices, and regulatory compliance in ensuring safe and trustworthy digital commerce environments.
