极端使役环境探测用Yb∶Lu2O3超快闪烁晶体生长及性能研究
Abstract
Abstract: Yb 3+ -doped Lu 2 O 3 crystal has emerged as an ideal material for ultrafast scintillation detectors in extreme service environments owing to its advantages of high temperature resistance, high density, and subnanosecond decay characteristics. This work reports on the study of the relevant performance of ultrafast scintil• lation Yb∶Lu 2 O 3 crystal grown by the temperature gradient technique.Thermogravimetric-differential scanning calorimetry, thermomechanical analysis and compressive strength tests demonstrated that Lu 2 O 3 possessed excel• lent thermal stability and compressive strength.Irradiation with a 137 Cs γ -ray source revealed a decay time of 1. 5 ns and an absolute light yield of 56 photons/MeV.This study marks the first experimental measurement of the absolute light yield of Yb∶Lu 2 O 3 ultrafast scintillation crystals. This finding demonstrates the significant potential of Yb∶Lu 2 O 3 crystals as promising candidate materials for high-energy physics experiments and nuclear medical imaging. Its high radiation detection efficiency and excellent operational stability under high -tempera• ture and high-pressure conditions offer a promising strategy for optimizing the performance of next-generation scintillator devices. Keywords: Yb∶Lu 2 O 3 ; crystal growth; ultrafast scintillation; extreme service environment 文章编号:
