Abstract

The incidence of incidental gallbladder carcinoma was 0.41%. Intraoperative bile spillage can severely compromise prognosis. Preoperative imaging demonstrates a low detection rate for neoplastic polyps. Particular vigilance for neoplastic polyps is warranted in patients aged ≥60 years or with solitary polyps. Cholecystectomy should be performed promptly for benign gallbladder diseases meeting surgical indications.
