Yaşam Aktiviteleri Modelinde Prematur Yenidoğanda Bakım: Olgu Sunumu
Abstract
Objective: This case report aims to demonstrate the systematic planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for a premature infant diagnosed with Patent Ductus Arteriosus using the Roper, Logan and Tierney Model of Nursing Based on a Model of Living.Rationale: Premature newborns have a complex and unstable physiological status, where minor variables can lead to major outcomes. This is particularly true when cardiac anomalies such as Patent Ductus Arteriosus are present. Utilizing evidence-based and systematic models is essential to standardize nursing care and improve its quality in such complex cases. The holistic and patient-centered structure of the Model of Living is well-suited to address all dimensions of premature infant care.Case and Implementation: In the presented case, the nursing care needs of a premature infant with Patent Ductus Arteriosus were comprehensively diagnosed based on the 12 activities of living (breathing, eating and drinking, elimination, etc.) of the Model of Living. By focusing on the newborn's individual needs, developmental stages, and environmental factors, the model enabled the creation of an integrated, holistic care plan that worked in concert with medical treatment. Conclusion: When the Model of Living is applied to premature newborn care, it ensures consistency and continuity in nursing care, as well as the systematic addressing of all infant-specific needs. In preterm infants with accompanying comorbidities such as Patent Ductus Arteriosus, the Model of Living can be used as an effective nursing guide.
