Design and standardization of a new user-manager interface
Abstract
The paper explores the transformation of priorities in the field of software development caused by changes in the relative value of technologies and human labor. These shifts urge developers to focus increasingly on the creation of efficient and user-friendly interfaces, particularly for managerial users within economic information systems. A variety of interface design approaches are considered, including user-centered design, goal-centered design, and activity-based interface modeling. The growing demand for both the creation of new user interfaces and the redesign of existing ones is emphasized as a significant trend in the modern IT market. The paper highlights four key criteria for evaluating interface quality: user performance speed, error rates, learning curve efficiency, and subjective satisfaction. These factors play a vital role in ensuring the success of enterprise information systems, which must support operational efficiency, seamless communication, and business process integration. Special attention is given to the importance of collaboration between end-users and developers throughout the design process. The research identifies that misalignment in perspectives - evident even during initial visual interactions with the interface – can lead to misunderstandings and functional mismatches. The paper also references relevant international standards (such as ISO 9241 and ISO/IEC 25010) and scientific contributions from Ukrainian and international scholars in the field of interface design. Overall, it underscores the strategic value of well-designed interfaces as communication channels between users and systems and presents design methodologies that can optimize user experience, reduce training costs, and improve the success rate of system implementation. Future research will focus on the development of standardized interface design principles, particularly using UX design practices and the implementation of adaptive interfaces that respond to the behavior and needs of enterprise managers.
