The world economy – current development and outlook

In turbulent times the health of the world economy and of the economies ofthe leading countries is crucial for the development of the international trade, investments,industrial production, etc. These important macroeconomic indicators have direct impacton the profits of the companies and the welfare of the nations. The economic situation andthe perspectives in the USA, China, Japan, Germany, and the European Union are examinedand forecasts are made on the basis of the so-called leading indicators which help to understandthe business cycle. The connection between the economic performance and thegeopolitical changes are discussed. The possible influence on the Bulgarian economy isalso explored. At the end recommendations for avoiding a hard landing of the economiesare stated.
