Abstract

Today, we are contemporaries of a rapidly changing and dynamically evolving world. It is therefore essential to be able to adapt quickly and apply the technologies that our modern society offers us. Artificial intelligence is not as new a phenomenon as most of society believes, it has existed for years in our daily lives and represents the ability of technical systems to monitor the environment, receive data previously created by another, process it, analyze the information, and perform actions related to achieving specific goals. The aim of this report is to identify real opportunities for the application of artificial intelligence in the agricultural sector of Bulgaria, in parallel with a comparison with its application in other countries around the world, and to find new opportunities for application and adaptation to our country’s agricultural sector. The main methods we use in this paper are comparative analysis, extrapolation, deduction, induction, strategic analysis, and pre-structured and unstructured interview methods. The results of the present study are important and significant not only for the scientific community, but especially for the farmers in Bulgaria and their future modern development, as it would provide them with better opportunities for adaptation, better integrated and sustainable management, better application of new technologies, and hence better yields and cost-effective results.
