Abstract

Behind the seemingly common term “fundamental rights,” which conveys the general idea of superior and prevailing rights within a given legal system—usually of constitutional rank, but not always, and protected by a specialized court—human rights and the fundamental rights of the faithful may surprise the reader due to their lack of uniformity within each legal system and their numerous differences. But it is striking to note how much these two concepts complement one another and could serve to correct each other mutually.
