Source Coding with Side Information: A Dual-Domain Expurgated Error Exponent
Abstract
We introduce an expurgation technique for source coding with side information that demonstrates existence of a code in the expurgated ensemble for which every source sequence satisfies a desired upper bound on error probability. Applying the developed technique, directly in dual-domain, we derive an expurgated error exponent for standard random coding ensemble with a possibly mismatched decoding metric.
