Successful cord blood transplantation for a unique mature γδ T-cell leukemia with KMT2A::AFDN translocation
Abstract
We previously reported an unusual case of mature γδ T-cell leukemia associated with agranulocytosis, in which KMT2A::AFDN rearrangement and a BCL11B mutation were identified, representing the first such case described in the literature. 1 In this report, we describe in detail the long-term clinical course that was not described in the previous report.A 21-year-old woman presented with severe neutropenia and emergence of abnormal lymphocytes (white blood cell count, 2300/μL; neutrophil, 51%; lymphocytes, 34%; and abnormal lymphocytes, 12%), which were CD1a -, CD2 -, surface CD3 + , CD4 -, CD5 + , CD7 + , CD8 + , CD16 -, CD19 + , CD20 -, CD30 -, CD34 -, CD45 + , CD56 -, cytoplasmic CD79a -, Igκ -, Igλ -, TCRαβ -, TCRγδ + , and HLA-DR -on flow cytometry (FCM, Figure 1).An FCM analysis of bone marrow showed that approximately 40% of all CD45-bright cells had the
