Abstract

Summary The integrated workflow combining drilling analysis, geomechanical modeling, and pressure compartment evaluation has proven highly effective in addressing operational challenges within the Hith/Gotnia formations. The inflow and well control incidents strongly correlated to elevated pore pressures in intra-Gotnia layers. The risk ranking framework and pressure cell analysis enabled us to design an optimal mud weight tailored to the drilling location. This approach not only mitigates immediate hazards but also establishes a robust foundation for future field development, including highly deviated wells and deeper targets.
