Tristan Martine (dir.), Communautés déchirées ? Violences et divisions au sein des communautés de l’Occident grégorien (xie-xiie siècles)
Abstract
Forty years after his death, Michel de Certeau (1925-1986) continues to inspire significant scholarship. A theorist of the “historical operation”, he has himself become the subject of history, that is, an archival subject. Andrés Freijomil explores the material traces of a poetics of reading that informs his practice as a writer. Claude Langlois examines the beginnings of this practice, revealing an unpublished work from his youth (1954) and numerous documents relating to the publication of Pierre Favre’s Mémorial (1960). Taking as his guiding thread the relationship with his elder, Henri de Lubac, Carlos Álvarez draws on accessible correspondence and the archives of the Society of Jesus to trace an intellectual journey and shed light on the issues at stake.
