Abstract

The transition from Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 to Industry 6.0 is driving the change of industrial systems towards increasingly complex socio-technical ecosystems, where physical systems, digital systems, artificial intelligence and people work together. As a result, the Industrial Metaverse is emerging as a critical infrastructure that enables constant interaction between real and virtual systems throughout their industrial lifecycle. However, conventional architectures based on classical computing, present limitations in scalability, sustainability, resilience and governance. To address these challenges, this chapter introduces the Holonic Quantum–Neuromorphic Project Engineering (HQPE) framework as an architectural and methodological reference for the design, deployment and operation of Industrial Metaverses in the context of Industry 6.0. The framework integrates cyber-physical systems, holonic principles and hybrid artificial intelligence supported by BIM and PLM environments.
