Quality of Higher Education

The book chapter “Quality of Higher Education – Current Situation and Policy Proposals in Vietnam” presents a comprehensive presentation of higher education's role in socio-economic development. The book chapter emphasizes that the quality of education is a key factor in training highly qualified human resources and a driving force for national innovation. The book chapter analyzes outstanding achievements such as expanding the scale of training, strengthening university autonomy, improving scientific research capacity, promoting digital transformation, and international integration. However, many challenges still exist, such as uneven quality of lecturers, slow innovation of training programs, inadequate facilities, and limited linkages between universities and businesses. The book chapter proposes specific policies to comprehensively improve the quality of higher education, including staff development, program improvement, infrastructure investment, enhanced accreditation, and international cooperation expansion, toward a modern, creative, and sustainable university system.
