Beyond Bell Curve
Abstract
This chapter aims to reframe gifted education not as identification and extraction but as ecological design. Instead of retrofitting rigid structures through differentiation or enrichment, we propose an alternative architecture that operates in parallel to traditional schooling. This architecture is fluid, permeable, and responsive to developmental variation. It builds environments. This chapter argues that the persistent challenges in educating gifted and twice-exceptional learners arise not from deficiencies in everyday instructional practice but from a fundamental misalignment embedded in the structure and design of educational systems.
