Abstract

Air pollution and smog remain critical global health challenges, contributing significantly to respiratory illnesses, cardiovascular diseases, and premature mortality. Despite advancements in air quality monitoring and control strategies, urbanization, industrialization, and vehicular emissions continue to exacerbate pollution levels in many regions. This paper examines the health implications of global trends in smog and air pollution, highlighting the interconnectedness between environmental degradation and public health outcomes. It further evaluates contemporary strategies for cleaner air, including technological innovations, regulatory frameworks, and sustainable urban planning, as well as their effectiveness in reducing exposure-related health risks. The study underscores the necessity for integrated approaches that combine policy intervention, public awareness, and cross-sectoral collaboration to achieve long-term improvements in air quality and public well-being.
