Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems, while transformative, often inherit biases from data, algorithms, and human decision-making, raising ethical concerns regarding fairness, accountability, and societal impact. Bias in AI can result in discriminatory outcomes, reinforcing social inequalities in critical areas such as healthcare, hiring, lending, and law enforcement. Ensuring fairness requires rigorous bias detection, mitigation strategies, and the adoption of Explainable AI (XAI) to enhance transparency and accountability. Ethical AI frameworks must integrate principles of inclusivity, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement to foster trust and prevent harm. This research explores the ethical implications of AI bias, emphasizing technical and policy-driven solutions to achieve equitable and responsible AI deployment.
