Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in digital media has transformed the way information is produced, disseminated, and consumed. While AI-driven technologies such as automated content generation, deep learning-based recommendation systems, and real-time data analytics enhance efficiency and accessibility, they also raise critical ethical concerns. Issues related to data privacy, algorithmic bias, misinformation, and the proliferation of fake news have emerged as significant challenges, impacting public trust and the integrity of digital media ecosystems. This chapter critically examines the ethical dilemmas surrounding AI's role in digital media, with a specific focus on the risks of misinformation and the erosion of data privacy. AI-powered content moderation, sentiment analysis, and fact-checking mechanisms have been introduced as solutions to counter fake news, yet these tools are not devoid of biases, opacity, and ethical pitfalls.
