Abstract

This survey chapter examines the influence of social media and virtual reality (VR) on consumer behavior, highlighting their transformative roles in modern marketing. Social media drives information search, social influence, and brand engagement, while VR offers immersive experiences that enhance purchase intentions and consumer satisfaction. The combined use of these technologies creates synergistic effects, amplifying consumer interaction and emotional connection with brands. Despite their potential, challenges such as privacy concerns, psychological impacts, accessibility issues, and ethical marketing practices require careful consideration. The chapter also outlines future research directions, including emerging technologies like augmented reality and AI personalization, as well as cross-cultural and longitudinal studies.
