Abstract

The growing application of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, from early childhood to higher education, raises exciting possibilities and difficult legal issues. Data privacy, security, and ethics are common concerns. This landscape is governed by a complex web of regulations, including GDPR, FERPA, COPPA, SOPIPA, and HIPAA. NIST recommendations and CFR parts also matter. Due to these advancements, India's regulatory environment is changing swiftly. Every educational institution that handles personal data, especially of EU nationals, must comply with GDPR. The major US student education record law is FERPA.
