Abstract

This chapter explores in depth recent developments in CSR governance practices in the specific context of Morocco in the era of smart digitalization. Over the past decade, the widespread adoption of technologies such as artificial AI, big data, IoT, and digital platforms has profoundly reshaped modes of production, governance, and interaction between companies and their stakeholders. This digital transformation, integrated into national strategies such as “Digital Morocco 2030,” aims to position Morocco as an African hub for innovation, modernize the productive apparatus, and stimulate innovative entrepreneurship. The central concept of algorithmic governance is introduced as a new hybrid form of governance, involving automated technological mechanisms that redefine traditional models of organizational control and raise new challenges in terms of ethics, transparency, and fairness. In the Moroccan context, these challenges are exacerbated by specific structural and institutional constraints, such as the hybridization of imported formal standards and local informal practices.
