Abstract

This work studies the incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) as a vector of pedagogical innovation in the teaching/learning of physical education and sports (PE). Based on a systematic literature review of recently published work (2023-2024), this chapter highlights three major advantages of AI devices in PE teaching, including the individualization of educational pathways, the objectivity of evaluation and the development of learners' motivation and commitment, including those with disabilities. The critical analysis highlights challenges to be overcome, namely teacher training, data privacy and educational equity for all. An interdisciplinary conceptual framework is proposed as well as recommendations regarding education policies, digital investment and institutional cooperation. This study aims to establish the foundations for a deontological and continuous integration of AI tools in PE, for innovative, inclusive pedagogical practices adapted to the individual needs of learners.
