Abstract

This research explores the ethical, political, and humanitarian implications of AI-driven warfare, focusing on its impact on civilian casualties, healthcare systems, and international governance. By combining qualitative case studies and quantitative data analysis, the study examines conflicts where AI technologies, such as autonomous weapons and drone strikes, have been deployed. It assesses civilian death ratios, misidentifications, and attacks on healthcare facilities, emphasizing the disproportionate toll on non-combatants. The research also evaluates the geopolitical consequences of AI in military operations, highlighting the potential for an AI-driven arms race and shifts in global power dynamics. Through expert interviews and legal analysis, the study explores gaps in international humanitarian law and the need for new regulatory frameworks. Ultimately, it provides insights into the pressing need for global governance to ensure ethical use of AI in warfare while safeguarding civilians and medical neutrality in conflict zones.
